Rota do Douro is a young company that invests in professionalism, quality, dynamism and diversity, these characteristics combined with the “sublimated Doiro. The prodigy of a landscape that ceases to be a landscape by dint of becoming excessive…” (Miguel Torga in ‘Diário XII’) made it possible to realize what was once a dream.

– In 1999 we began the dream, with the acquisition of the first vessel, a replica of a rabelo boat “the Rota do Douro”; with capacity for 75 passengers, divided between the lounge and the sun-deck.

– In 2002, another replica of the “ Além Douro ” arrived at our pier, with capacity for 94 passengers, divided between the lounge and the sun-deck.

– In 2006 we built the ‘Vale do Douro’, a boat with greater capacity, with the aim of providing greater comfort in viewing the unforgettable landscapes that the Douro offers us;

– In 2010 the “Transdouro” joined the fleet; with capacity for 165 passengers.

– 2013 was a year of investment as we acquired 3 vessels, the “Vistadouro”, the “Princesa do Douro” and the Milénio do Douro”, increasing our fleet to 7 boats.

– In June 2016 we increased our fleet with the arrival of a new boat with capacity for 450 passengers.

We acquired a travel agency license to be able to do what our loyal Clients have been asking us for for a long time – tailor-made programs lasting 2 or more days. It is gratifying to meet the customer's high demands, when you know that we always have the capacity to do more and better.

Along this journey and despite growth, a commitment has always been made: on board our vessels, meals are prepared with the best the region has to offer, with fresh quality products.
